Even though it may take some time to process the shock of seeing Republican nominee Donald Trump win the Presidency, there is some good that came from this election. 

While everyone was focusing on who was going to become the next President of the United States, Kamala Harris became the first bi-racial women, the first black politician to represent California and only the second black women ever elected to the Senate. 

Also, in Illinois, Tammy Duckworth defeated Mark Kirk who throughout his campaign has made a number of derogatory comments about his opponent. Tammy is a veteran who lost both  her legs in the Iraq war.
